Research Achievements

PRODUCTION & PROTECTION TECHNOLOGIES DEVELOPED

During the years 2006 & 2007 following technologies were developed and recommended for adoption by the farmers in the zone

  • In sesame, application of thiamethoxam 25 WG @ 100 g/ha and acetameprid 20 WS @ 100 g/ha was found effective against leaf curl.
  • Application of imidacloprid 200 SL @ 150 ml/ha was found effective for management of   sucking pests in moongbean.  Spray should be done just on the appearance of pests and if required may be repeated at 15 days interval.
  • Application of Difenoconazole 25 EC @ 0.1% was found effective against powdery mildew of cumin.
  • Seed treatment with Carbendazim @ 2g/ha + soil application of Trichoderma @ 2.5 kg/ha with 100 kg FYM found effective against root rot of isabgol.
  • Seed soaking in the aqueous solution of streptocycline @ 0.03% + thiourea @ 0.05% simultaneously for 3 hrs has been recommended for obtaining higher  seed yield and  for control of  bacterial blight of guar.
  • Seed treatment with carbendazim @ 2 g/kg + soil application of Trichoderma harzianum @ 2.5 kg/ha with 100 kg FYM was found effective against collar rot of groudnut
  • Soil application of bio-agent fungi Beauveria spp. or Metarihizum spp. @ 2.5 kg/ha mixing with 100 kg moist FYM for 72 hours before sowing found beneficial in controlling termite and other soil pests in gram.
  • Soil application of bio-agent fungi Beauveria spp. @ 5.0 kg/ha mixing with 100 kg moist FYM for 72 hours before sowing found beneficial in controlling termite and other soil pests in barley.
